You can use them to pull 'newsfeeds' from any web page that displays them.
What is a newsfeed? A newsfeed offers continuously updated information about new pages and page updates from a web site.
For example, CNN or BBC news feeds continuously update you about the latest news from around the world. And you can choose to be updated about all their news or just about health news or sports news or weather news.
Newsfeeds are like 'Favorites' or 'Bookmarks' but much, much better. Favorites and bookmarks are hard to keep track of. And anyway, why go back to web sites to see 'what's new' when the answer usually is 'nothing'!
Once you get started, it's like having your favorite parts of the Web come to you. No need to go out and check for updates all the time.
No more bookmarks!
Yes, RSS is amazing. No e-mail needed. No spam. It's so easy to subscribe and unsubscribe. If you get tired of us , you just have to delete the feed. It's awesome!
And once you start, you'll soon be tracking all your other favourite interests and news in the world.
